SES Americom has integrated video encryption technology developed by Harmonic Inc. with the satellite operators IP-Prime Internet Protocol (IP) distribution service, the companies announced Oct. 24. Harmonic Prostream 1000 provides scrambling and bulk descrambling technology for up to 128 services in a single rack unit and can be scaled and configured to provide a range of digital video stream-processing functions, including multiplexing and re-encoding.
