The Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI), in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), announced their cooperative launch of a satellite-based educational program for medical students and practitioners, according to press reports from India.

Under the academic initiative, Cosme Farma Laboratories Ltd. (CFLL) will install satellite dishes with technical support from ISRO. A classroom-like teaching module will feature course content developed by FOGSI doctors and disseminated live via satellite to more than 100 municipal and governmental medical colleges in India.

Satellite centers have already been launched at the medical colleges in Jaipur, Jammu, Gorakhpur, Patna, Guntur, Manipal, Baroda and Goa.
