Khrunichev will manufacture the Kazsat-2 satellite for the government of Kazakhstan, according to a Sept. 26 report from RIA Novosti. Khrunichev will work with the Russian Institute of Space Device Engineering, Kosmicheskaya Svyaz and Alcatel Alenia Space.Kazsat-2 is scheduled for launch in 2009.
Khrunichev also build the Kazsat-1 satellite, which was launched in June and provides broadcasting and fixed telephony services across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and parts of Russia.
