Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. posted a profit of $2.1 million in the 2006 second quarter, rebounding from a loss of $1.1 million in the same period a year ago, the company announced Aug. 14. Revenues for the 2006 second quarter, which closed June 30, were $61 million, up from $51.4 million in the 2005 second quarter.

“These results were driven by growing sales in our core markets,” Amiram Levinberg, Gilat’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “We were also successful in achieving first orders in new market segments including, business continuity with Cisco and backhaul solutions for cellular and enterprise operators.”
