Digitalglobe announced Aug. 7 that ITT Corp. completed and shipped the imaging sensor for the next generation Worldview 1 satellite.

This sensor, which will be able to capture imagery with a ground resolution of 0.5 meters, will be integrated into the satellite platform by Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp.

Worldview 1 is scheduled to be launched into orbit by mid 2007.
