The U.S. Department of Defense awarded Frequency Electronics Inc. multiple contracts to build a secure communications satellite system.

The initial contracts, totaling $1.5 million, include obtaining long-lead materials and developing time and frequency generation payload assemblies. If all options were exercised, the company’s revenue from the program would exceed $10 million, Frequency said.
