While still assessing the fallout from the July launch failure that destroyed the Insat-4C communications satellite, Madhaven Nair, chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) continues to look forward to the agency’s first planned lunar mission. “Substantial progress is expected in realizing India’s first mission to moon, Chandrayaan-1, to be launched in the first quarter of 2008,” he told Satellite Today.
