Apache Corp. approved Stratos Global Corp.‘s proposal to supply remote communications to more than 100 offshore oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, Stratos announced July 25. Stratos will use its recently restored microwave network for the main network and also provide satellite-based backup capacity. The five-year contract is valued at about $19 million.
