Comsat International procured a pair of Skyedge satellite hubs and nearly 5,000 VSAT terminals to offer broadband services for Caixa Economica Federal, one of Brazil’s largest banks, Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced July 18.

Comsat is installing a hybrid Internet Protocol network comprised of VSATs and terrestrial-based connectivity for Caixa, which oversees the country’s federal lottery sites. The network will provide both lottery transaction sites and general banking services.
