Arabsat awarded a contract to Arianespace for the launch of the BADR-6 satellite in the first half of 2008, Arianespace announced July 7. In June, Arabsat announced EADS Atrium would build the communications satellite, which will be placed at 26 degrees East to provide service over the Middle East and North Africa.
