Teracom selected Wegener Corp. to provide technology to support digital signage solutions in Sweden, Wegener announced June 7.

Teracom currently uses Wegener’s Ipump Media Servers and Compel Network Control to operate two pilot programs that increase end-to-end management and distribution of video and data to its clients. The Compel Network Control as well as the Mediaplan Content Management systems ensures the correct digital content and linear video feeds are delivered to the right locations at the right time.

“Digital signage is a powerful emerging application that allows our clients to control the visual environment in their retail stores to provide a consistent and enjoyable user experience,” Maria Berggren, Teracom’s product manager, said in a statement. “Our satellite-based solution offers cutting-edge flexibility to provide simultaneous download of customized video and signage data to an unlimited number of locations. The system allows for multiple monitors per store and can be operated with or without a return path. Therefore the maintenance and startup costs involved in point-to-point high-speed internet connections can be avoided.”
