Raytheon Receives $21.8 Million Missile Contract

      The Air Force gave Raytheon Co. a $21.8 million firm fixed price contract change to move toward providing advanced medium range -to-air missiles (AMRAAM).

      Raytheon Missile Systems, of Tucson, Ariz., will gain lead time away material for a dozen operational test missiles (AIM-120D), and 40 initial operational capability missiles (AIM-120D and AIM-120C7), according to the Department of Defense.

      The company also is to provide systems engineering performance responsibility (SEPR) in the program.

      The contract is managed by Headquarters Medium Range Missile Systems Group, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.
