China Satellite Communications Corp. (China Satcom) completed its deployment of about 1,000 Gilat Skyedge VSATs, Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced April 11. The VSATs will provide rural telephony services in Gansu Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

“For over a decade, Gilat has built a strong reputation among China’s largest telecom operators for providing public rural communication solution that is fully integrated with the Chinese public telephony network, combined with responsive local customer service,” Giora Reish, Gilat’s regional vice president, Asia, said in a statement.
