Boeing awarded ViaSat Inc. a contract valued at about $57 million to develop the ground-based beam-forming system for the new Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) communications network, Boeing announced April 4.

The system, combined with satellites being built by Boeing, will enable MSV to provide its next-generation of mobile satellite services. The satellites will be designed, integrated and tested at Boeing’s Satellite Development Center in El Segundo, Calif.
