Shareholders of New Skies Satellites Holdings Ltd. approved the acquisition of the company by SES Holdings Ltd., New Skies announced Feb. 10.

Antitrust reviews in the United States and Germany have been completed but other U.S. regulatory approvals remain pending, including approvals from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, New Skies said.

The deal, which would cement SES as the second largest Fixed Satellite Services company in the world behind the combined Intelsat-Panamsat, is expected to close in the second quarter.
