TANDBERG Television will be acquiring IP video solutions provider SkyStream, through a cash/stock transfer transaction valued at $80 million.

The move will bring together two major players in the digital video delivery market, allowing TANDBERG to add SkyStream’s IPTV solutions to its portfolio; including SkyStream’s Mediaplex-20 and iPlex switched digital video headend products. TANDBERG will maintain SkyStream’s facilities in Sunnyvale, CA, in order to bring TANDBERG closer to its U.S. customer base.

If everything goes to plan, the deal should close in April.
