JSAT Corporation will be launching its JCSAT-11 satellite on an ILS Proton Breeze M vehicle in 2007; making it the first Japanese company to use a Russian launch vehicle. The deal was announced at the SATELLITE 2006 Conference & Exhibition, which is being held in Washington on February 6-9, 2006. JSAT has conducted three JCSAT launches with ILS previously; all on Atlas vehicles.

JCSAT-11 is an A2100 model satellite built by Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems. ILS Proton vehicles have launched eight A2100s to date, and will be sending up four more in the next two years, including JCSAT-11.
