Echostar Communications Corp. and Lifetime Entertainment Services announced Feb. 1 that they have reached a multi-year agreement that will return Lifetime Television and Lifetime Movie Network to the Dish Network. The two channels were restored to Dish Network Jan. 31.
Echostar dropped Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network Jan. 1 in a contract dispute with Lifetime Television. Echostar claimed that Lifetime demanded “an unreasonable” rate increase of 76 percent for the rights to broadcast the networks, while Lifetime said Echostar and Dish “unilaterally refused to negotiate a reasonable carriage agreement.”
The two companies did not release any details of the new agreement.
