New Skies Satellites B.V. donated satellite transmission services for a Dec. 19 TV broadcast by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for an anti-malaria campaign.

The International Federation used the donated capacity on New Skies’ NSS-7 satellite to provide live shots from Niger to various television outlets across Europe and the United States.

The effort was part of an International Federation campaign to fight malaria in the West African nation through the use of mosquito nets. Under the program, more than 2 million mosquito nets have been distributed to about 3.5 million children in total.
