Jill Smith has been named president and CEO of Digitalglobe, replacing Herb Satterlee, the company announced Nov. 7. Smith most recently served as president and CEO of software company EDial, which was acquired by Alcatel in September 2004.

Satterlee will remain chairman of Digitalglobe and work with the company’s defense and intelligence business unit, managing government relations around the world.
