The Satellite Users Interference Reduction Group (SUIRG) launched an online, interactive database to consolidate and tracks incidents of satellite radio frequency interference within the geostationary arc, the organization announced.

The Interference Matrix Database will permit satellite operators, broadcasters and transmission service providers to track and identify the primary causes and regional sources of interference, allowing the parties to perform corrective actions designed to minimize and eradicate the interference problem.

The database collects and sorts interference incidents by source, originating region, and size and type of antenna. SUIRG member satellite operators input the data anonymously through a password-protected page. The aggregated data can be viewed on the SUIRG website.

SUIRG is a non-profit association dedicated to combating problems of satellite radio frequency interference.
