SES Americom announced Oct. 26 a five-year agreement with Skyview Satellite Networks that expands an existing agreement to delivery sports radio programming across the United States. Skyview delivers programming for more than 20 professional and collegiate sports teams to hundreds of affiliate stations. Under the new agreement, Skyview will double its capacity on the AMC-8 satellite. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In a separate announcement, SES Americomsaid Oct. 25 it launched IPConnect, a centralized distribution platform designed to serve enterprise markets with satellite-delivered Internet protocol (IP)-based voice, video and data solutions.

The company unveiled IPConnect Virtual Network Operator services, which enables enterprise service providers to operate their own virtual VSAT network and offer basic Web surfing, point-of-sale authorization, voice over IP, video and private networks.

SES Americom also announced a suite of IPConnect services based on Verestar’s IPLex offering acquired by SES Americom in December 2004. The services allow corporate networks and public organizations to tap dedicated and shared bandwidth for an array of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint applications.
