Encore Networks received a contract from Satellite Communication Technology Ltd. (SCT) to provide satellite connectivity at construction sites, Encore announced Oct. 24.

SCT deployed Encore’s VSR-30 router for European construction giant Skanska, which is using the equipment to provide temporary, secure communications at remote construction sites throughout the United Kingdom.

“Satellite broadband enables Skanska’s communication system to be up and running the day they arrive on site and provides the flexibility to transfer all network equipment and services to a new construction site when the current project ends,” Steve Chilver, SCT CEO, said in a statement. “

The value of the contract was not disclosed.
