Lockheed Martin Wins Contract To Build JCSAT-11
Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems received a contract from JSAT Corp. to build JCSAT-11, Lockheed Martin announced Oct. 3. The hybrid spacecraft will be based on Lockheed Martin’s A2100AX platform and will feature Ku- and C-band transponders.
This is the third satellite manufacturing contract Lockheed Martin has received from JSAT. JCSAT-9 and JCSAT-10 are under construction at Lockheed Martin’s Newtown, Pa.-facility and are scheduled to be launched in 2006.
JCSAT-11 is scheduled to be launched in 2007. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
