Intelsat General Corp. announced Sept. 12 that Richard DalBello will be the company’s new vice president of government relations. DalBello will be responsible for informing and educating policy and decision makers in federal, state, local and other government-related organizations on the ways Intelsat General serves the United States and the international communities.

Prior to joining Intelsat, DalBello served as president of the Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association and as president of the Satellite Industry Association.

“The government is a key customer and Richard will be instrumental in helping government officials understand [Intelsat General’s] special role and the long-term economic and social value of satellite communications to the nation’s security and well-being,” Intelsat General President Susan Miller said in a statement.
