Globecomm Systems Inc. said Sept. 12 it received a contract through Dasnet Corp. to provide a telecommunications network for the Afghan National Army.
Under the contract, valued at approximately $7.4 million, with another $3.6 million in options, Globecomm and Dasnet will provide all the equipment and personnel necessary to support the network, including operations and maintenance for a year.
Once complete, the network will allow for communications between the Afghanistan Ministry of Defense and the Afghan National Army. The U.S. government is funding the contract.
