Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced earlier this week it was selected by Tatanet India to provide two Skyedge hubs and “thousands” of Skyedge Internet protocol VSAT terminals.

The Skyedge systems will operate over Extended C-band and Ku-band satellites. With the new systems, Tatanet will offer improved IP connectivity to it customer base, which included stock brokers, banks, corporate customers and media houses.

Financial terms of the deployment were not disclosed.
