Hughes Network Systems Europe (HNS Europe) received a contract to be the sole supplier of satellite broadband services to Provident International, a personal credit company.

Provident required broadband connectivity from its Central European branch offices in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia in order to send back-office information to its U.K. data center.

Provident will use the Direcway system to send transactional information during trading hours and conduct operational maintenance activities, such as updating and upgrading software applications, during off-peak hours.

HNS Europe said it was selected in a competitive bidding process. It did not disclose the names of other competitors for the bid or the value of the contract.
