Tandberg Television, a supplier of technology to satellite pay-TV operators, reported strong revenue growth in its 2005 second quarter.

Revenue for the quarter, which ended June 30, was 457 million Norwegian kroner ($69.9 million), an increase of more than 20 percent compared to the same quarter in 2004 and 11 percent more than its revenue in the 2005 first quarter. Tandberg delivered operating profits of 74.9 million kroner ($11.5 million), up 76 percent from the same quarter last year.

The company saw some encouraging signs in the satellite sector, announcing high-definition TV, MPEG-4 advanced video compression deals with BSkyB in the United Kingdom and DPC (Premiere) in Germany, as well as a $4 million MPEG-2 upgrade for Sky New Zealand during the 2005 second quarter.
