XM Satellite Radio said June 28 it signed an agreement with Hyatt Hotels Corp. under which the nationwide hotel operator will offer XM satellite radio service free of charge to hotel patrons.

“Hyatt is excited to be at the forefront of in-room entertainment technology,” Matt Adams, vice president of operations for Hyatt said in a statement. “Being the first hotel company to offer XM service chain-wide gives us a differentiating advantage over our upscale competitors. Our customers will have cutting-edge in-room radio technology and more than 100 music and entertainment channels at their fingertips.”

Terms of the multiyear deal were not disclosed.
