Arianespace pushed back the launch of a pair of satellites due to a technical problem with the Telkom 2 spacecraft, Arianespace announced June 6.

The launch of the Spaceway 2 and Telkom 2 had been scheduled for the night of June 24. Arianespace has not set a new launch date for these two satellites and this development resulted in a reordering of Arianespace’s mission scheduling.

According to Orbital Sciences Corp., which completed production on Telkom 2 in November, the satellite will undergo evaluation and tests at its Dulles, Va., manufacturing facility to determine the root cause of a power supply anomaly that was detected while the satellite was being prepared for launch. The satellite was built for PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia.

The next scheduled Arianespace mission is the launch of IPStar for Thailand’s Shinsat, scheduled for the night of July 7.
