Panamsat Corp. announced June 8 it signed a multiyear expansion agreement to distribute premium programming from China Central Television (CCTV) to western Africa. Panamsat currently provides full-time program distribution services for CCTV over five satellites to the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean regions, and direct-to-home services in the United States. The new agreement has CCTV using Ku-band capacity on the PAS-1R satellite. Financial terms of the expansion agreement were not disclosed.
