The Wall Street Journal Reported May 31 that XM Satellite Radio awarded the contract for its fifth satellite to Loral Space and Communications, though the article did not get formal confirmation of the contract’s award. The value of the contract is reported to be about $200 million. It will be the first satellite built for XM by Loral. Boeing built XM’s previous satellites.
