EMS Technologies Inc. announced that it won a contract from LiveTV to provide Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) antenna systems for Virgin Blue Airlines of Australia. The contract is estimated at $6.8 million. This service will bring 24 channels of Foxtel and Austar programming directly to passengers. In addition to production antennas, the Virgin Blue order develops a new configuration of the DBS antenna system for LiveTV to meet the requirements of specific aircraft installations, satellite locations and signal polarizations available in Australia.

In addition to the LiveTV contract, EMS also won a contract valued at $1.3 million by the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) and Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to advance next-generation Beam Forming Network (BFN) technology for satellite communication systems. Work on this contract is expected to extend through early 2006.
