EMS Satcom, a division of EMS Technologies Inc., said that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Branch of the Department of Homeland Security successfully flight-tested the company’s eNfusion broadband communications solution earlier this year on a P3 Orion multi-mission aircraft.

Customs and Border Protection uses P3 Orion aircraft for detection, monitoring and interdiction of drug trafficking in Central and South America. It used the eNfusion communications system, in conjunction with EMS terminals and antennas to produce 256 kbps of communications bandwidth and allowing for near-real time communications.
