Shin Satellite PCL‘s board of directors approved the construction of Thaicom 5, a satellite that will be used to expand its Ku-band channels and satellite coverage in Thailand and neighboring countries, Dow Jones reported. The company did not name a manufacturer for the satellite, but said it will negotiate with multiple satellite manufacturers and then let its board of directors determine who will build the new spacecraft.
