EMS Satellite Networks (SatNet), a division of EMS Technologies, appointed Bill Hafner as director of federal sales, effective immediately. SatNet also hired consulting firm Zelinger Associates Inc. as its sales and marketing agent to the U.S. government.

Both announcements will help bolster SatNet’s government sales capability in North America’s open-standard, two-way DVB-RCS hub and terminal market. Last month, the Defense Information Systems Agency within the U.S. Department of Defense selected EMS to supply a DVB-RCS system.

Hafner joined EMS Technologies in 1999, most recently serving as a product director for EMS Satellite Networks. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the satellite communications market.

Zelinger worked with a variety of software and hardware manufacturers and systems integrators to target federal and state government IT opportunities.
