Irdeto Access, a Netherlands-based provider of content security for Digital TV, IPTV and mobile and a subsidiary of multinational media group Naspers announced that it gave Instituto Presbiteriano Mackenzie, a primary university in Sao Paulo, Brazil, an Irdeto Access content security system for research and development of digital TV standards in Brazil. Irdeto Access has implemented its Irdeto PIsys system in the Mackenzie Laboratory to show its support for the university’s pursuit of developing standards for emerging digital pay TV applications.

By using the Irdeto Access system, the university will be able to test and validate digital TV applications over various types of delivery networks, including digital cable, multi-channel multi-point distribution system, satellite and IPTV. Mackenzie is one of the universities that the Brazilian government has selected to develop transmission standards.
