Globecomm Systems Inc. posted a profit in its fiscal 2005 third quarter as revenue improved nearly 27 percent from the same period in 2004, the company reported May 11.

Globecomm earned $600,000 in the 2005 third quarter, which ended March 31, on revenue of $28.2 million. In the third quarter of 2004, the company lost $600,000 on revenue of $22.3 million.

Globecomm, which provides satellite-based communications services, attributed the improvements to increased infrastructure sales activity in the government marketplace as well as a general overall improvement in its telecommunications industry segments.

The company expects revenues for the full year, which ends June 30, to be more than $105 million.
