GlobeTel Tests Stratellite Airship Design
Sanswire Networks LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GlobeTel Communications Corp., said its prototype stratellite, Sanswire One, recently completed an early round of testing. Sanswire One was filled with lifting gas and flown under controlled conditions within the airspace specified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and was tethered at all times. Sanswire engineers gathered airborne stress management and other data during the flight test.
A stratellite is a high-altitude airship that is placed in the stratosphere to provide a stationary platform for transmitting various types of wireless communications services currently transmitted from satellites and terrestrial wireless infrastructure.
In other GlobeTel news, the company’s board of directors announced the approval of a reverse split of its shares on 1:15 basis. The company also announced that its shares, effective May 19, would be listed on the American Stock Exchange.
