The Inmarsat-4 F1 satellite completed its in-orbit tests and early operations are progressing as planned, satellite manufacturer EADS Astrium said. The spacecraft will be moved from its test location at 8 degrees East to its operational station at 64 degrees east throughout the next three weeks.

Inmarsat-4 F1, launched March 11, is the first of three spacecraft for Inmarsat that will provide capacity for existing services and the forthcoming Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service, delivering voice and high-speed data connectivity to mobile users.
