Panamsat de México received a contract from TV Azteca to distribute the company’s international channel to cable operators in Latin America and Europe, Panamsat said.

Panamsat de México, a joint venture of Panamsat Corp. and Grupo Pegaso’s Corporativo, will distribute the channel via the PAS-9 satellite. The spacecraft, located at 58º West, carries 24 C-band and 24 Ku-band transponders.

“Panamsat operates the top cable neighborhoods for video distribution in Latin America making it possible for us to broaden our reach into the region using a very reliable and coveted spacecraft,” Marcel Vinay, vice president of International Sales for TV Azteca, said in a statement.

Azteca Internacional Spanish language lineup includes entertainment, reality shows, news, sports and novellas.
