Ottawa Fire Services Taps C-Com For Broadband Internet

C-Com Satellite Services Inc. said it delivered an iNetVu mobile satellite antenna system to the Ottawa Fire Service. The Provincial Hazmat/CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) Response Team of the Ottawa Fire Service will use the system in case of a terrorist threat or attack. It will deliver high-speed Internet, e-mail and voice-over-IP (VoIP) into the Hazmat/CBRN Team vehicle. The system is powered by the battery of the vehicle it is installed on. Leslie Klein, president and CEO of C-Com, told Satellite Today that this is the third such installation in Canada. Financial terms of the installation were not disclosed.
