Satlynx acquired a significant volume of Xantic‘s VSAT business in a key deal announced today. Xantic, a Dutch company majority-owned by KPN, is focusing more on its mobile satellite communications business going forward. The agreement was completed at the end of last year but announced yesterday. All customers have been contacted and transfer of operational management commenced 1 March 2005.

The deal is a boost for Satlynx. According to Satlynx CEO and president, Paul Heinerscheid, “This deal gives us the possibility to grow our share of an attractive market segment which fits nicely with our strategy to focus more on government, defense and SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier) related service whilst giving us a good balance in our service portfolio.”
