Latens Systems signed a key content protection deal with Swedish Space Corporation (SSC). SSC will use Latens next generation content and protection systems for its content distribution business. Latens provides TV content businesses with dynamic software-based revenue protection systems, which it claims are much more cost-efficient and flexible than static and hardware-based solutions.

Conny Jonsson, station manager at Stockholm Teleport, Swedish Space Corporation comments, “We chose Latens because they have a proven system, based on open standards, that is accepted by the content studios and does not require expensive hardware at either the headend or at the decoder stage. In addition, Latens is a company that really understands the TV and content security business.”
