Both Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio reached their respective subscriber goals for 2004, each company announced last week.

XM said Dec. 27 that it recently surpassed 3.1 million subscribers, the company’s year-end goal.

Likewise, Sirius said it eclipsed the one million-subscriber mark, its year-end goal. Sirius credited a robust holiday sales season, along with aggressive marketing, advertising and increased customer awareness as contributing factors to it achieving its subscriber goal.
