Orbimage said its SeaStar Fisheries Information Service has released the new OrbBuoy product line. The low-profile buoys are designed to be stealthy to avoid loss, but easily retrievable through the use of GPS and two-way communications, via the Inmarsat D+ satellite network that will allow for the remote activation of the buoy’s recovery beacon. Location information and control capabilities for each buoy is integrated in Orbimage’s OrbMap software, which allows the fishermen to see and track each buoy’s location onto of SeaStar ocean information maps.
