BT, the UK telco has now exited the satellite business after selling its stake in leading satellite operator Eutelsat. BT sold its 15.8 percent stake for GBP368 million ($675 million) to GS Capital Partners 2000. This transaction marks the end of a series of sales for BT in the satellite arena. Throughout the past 12 months, BT also sold its stakes in satellite operators, Intelsat, Inmarsat and New Skies Satellites. The sale of its stake in Eutelsat ends a 25-year association with the operator, which it helped co-found in the late 1970s.
