BSkyB, the leading satellite pay-TV operator in the U.K., has revamped its interactive service portal, Sky Active, and it will deliver the new service portal later this week. The new service portal will make greater use of video and original editorial content in order to create a magazine-style channel that offers on-demand entertainment and information as an alternative to conventional television. Content for the portal will be updated daily and changed during the course of the day to appeal to the different audiences of daytime and evening television. Sky has come up with the magazine style format for Sky Active after an extensive period of customer research.

Ian Shepherd, managing director of Sky Interactive, commented, “The bright and fresh magazine-style format of the new Sky Active provides a personalized, on-demand experience that is entertaining, informative and visually appealing. With the launch of the new channel, Sky aims to re-assert its creative leadership in interactive television and drive increased usage and frequency among our existing customer base.”
