Telenor Offers Special Holiday Ship-To-Shore Rates

By Staff Writer | November 11, 2004

Oslo, Norway-based Telenor Satellite Services will offer cut-rate phone calls to sailors during the upcoming holiday season to spur demand. The company, in tandem with satellite operator Inmarsat, is extending low-cost Super Quite Time (SQT) hours around-the-clock beginning 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) Christmas Eve and running until 6:00 GMT on Jan. 3, 2005.

Telenor’s SQT program features substantially reduced prices of less than $1 per minute, for prepaid voice calls over maritime Inmarsat-B, -M, Mini-M, and all fleet services.
